This is already taking place in other countries around the world. California has already made similar commitments. Our states should step out and take a lead and move forward with the rest. Showing us as leaders, as we did with cars a hundred years ago. Are we going to step up and lead or keep sleeping at the wheel, as we have been?
No gas-powered cars and trucks manufactured by 2025. All outlawed by 2030. All commercial vehicles and construction equipment would be required to run on Bio fuels as soon as a production plant is up and running. All transportation vehicles of private or commercial use powered by gasoline will be banned from a state’s roads by 2030. They would be required to be electric or run on Bio-fuel. A new company that is producing Bio fuels now is NESTE. They have already worked out the kicks and are producing bio-fuels for sale. And are supply some airline companies with jet fuel. Norway – was the first that proposed a ban on petrol and diesel vehicles in 2016 by making a switch to electric powered vehicles by 2025. 40% in April of 2019 alone. Their city buses are only permitted to be electric since 2019. Their Renewable Electric Support Plan will provide 4,500 MW of renewable electric by 2030. In July politicians passed a bill to completely divest from fossil fuels by withdrawing public funds Hom oil and gas companies.
Since I’m a born & raised Detroiter, I still love classic cars, it’s a big part of the city’s history and I don’t wish it to disappear completely. So, any and all classic cars should be allowed to run in a state at certain times, whether for car shows or special events or for the pure joy of cruising, until 2050. A category of classic car & super car should be determined and licensed as such.
Those of us who are true Detroiters and grew up in Michigan know of its true progressiveness and the history of those people who made it great, are and will always be remembered as a part of its history.
